Most people want the largest TV they can have but in reality unless you have a large viewing space - you're not going to be able to benefit from the larger LCD Screens. Although we all have seen people who sit a few feet away from their massive 50" Plasma screen ! As a rule of thumb you should not be sitting nearer than 2 metres to a standard definition broadcast - a little nearer for HD on a 32" LCD TV
The Panasonic TX32LZD80 is from the new range of Panasonic screens. This version is one of the Full HD screens which has 1080 lines to display the picture (unlike the HD Ready sets which usually have either 720 or 768 lines) However the extra resolution doesn't always guarantee a better picture or viewing experience - some of the most truly abysmal pictures have been generated from 1080 lines on Full HD LCD screens.

Fortunately the Panasonic TX32LZD80 does deliver - both maintaining the high standard from the Digital processing software that Panasonic has been perfecting and also improving on it's HD ready sets.

Remember to get the proper benefit from HD material and the increased definition then you are going to need to provide a proper HD input - from something like a HD broadcast, Bluray or PS3/Xbox 360 console. If you don't intend to utilise these sources frankly you're probably better saving some cash and buying a cheaper TV until you do need these. You can probably buy a cheaper but quality HD-ready TV for about £200 cheaper at the time of writing.

HD is the future though and it's adoption is increasing at a rapid rate with dedicated channels on Sky and the BBC. The prices of BluRay players have fallen and to see a Bluray film on one of these sets is quite breathtaking.

The Panasonic TX32LZD80 is a wonderful TV - feed it HD source through a HDMI input and it will amaze you - the blacks are deep, colors have real depth and smooth motion in even action films. It has 3 HDMI inputs plus 2 scarts and S Video, PC(VGA) and composite inputs.

Sound is not too bad - probably slightly above average for a LCD TV but for a better built in sound experience either look at the Panasonic TX-32LZD85 or get an external Home theatre system.

The Panasonic TX32LZD80 is a wonderful LCD TV - probably one of the best in the market at the moment. If you're into or are looking at HDTV stuff - you won't go wrong with this TV - if you're staying with Standard Definition for the foreseeable probably worth buying a cheaper set that displays SD stuff just as well.

About the Author
Joe Simpson Internet Marketing and Technology Specialist Reviewing the Panasonic TX32LZD80

Internet Marketing

Sponsored by
Gla Nature

Joeyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01555825442594962424noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4002136809199522147.post-4634043074597259662008-09-20T17:14:00.004+07:002008-10-17T09:03:57.552+07:00TH-42PX70 Review – Panasonic Viera 42" 1080p Plasma TV

Having dominated the plasma technology market over the past few years, it's no wonder that every new generation of Panasonic plasma TVs are greeted with much anticipation. The latest one is no different: having been unveiled at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2007 in Las Vegas at the beginning of the year, roll-out of the 10th generation plasma began in Europe (soon to be followed suit in the US) in March 2007. I encounter the Panasonic TH-42PX70 quite often in my profession, and so will give a brief rundown of its capabilities.

Panasonic plasmas have an excellent reputation for unrivaled black level and shadow detail, and I'm happy to report that the TH-42PX70 is up there with the best in this department. Batman Begins and Unforgiven – both suitably dark films – would have absolutely murdered any lesser competitors, but on the Panasonic TH-42PX70 I could still see fine shadow detail that could have so easily been engulfed by nothingness.

Furthermore, there's not very much you need to do to get the picture looking right: if all TVs were produced in this manner, ISF calibrators will soon be out of job. To attain the 6500 Kelvin (daytime) color temperature in which films are shot and broadcast, simply go into your user menu, select the "Cinema" mode (assuming you haven't done so when you first set up your TH-42PX70) and then the "Warm" color temperature. By doing this you make sure that you're watching the film as per the director's vision.

Traditionally image retention are a big problem with plasmas; not so with TH-42PX70. I had detected a slight hint of retention after putting on static images (from my computer) for 10 minutes, but within 1 minutes of resuming moving images the retention washed away. I really think that as long as you take the proper precautions, image retention on plasmas is a thing of the past.

Nevertheless, the TH-42PX70 has its own set of weaknesses. For starters, it still suffers from problems of false contouring where there should be fine gradation. Part of this is source-based as the problem largely went away when watching high-definition, but if you're sensitive to this kind of thing it may annoy you.

The previous generation of Panasonic plasmas was haunted with what is known as "purple snake" or "purple ants", where purple bands or pixels with appear around green areas with small change of gradient. In the TH-42PX70 I couldn't really see it when sitting from 8 feet away, but if I move closer to the screen at say 3 feet I would notice it... IF I'm looking for it. Just something worth bearing in mind.

When reviewing plasmas, I cannot refrain from mentioning buzzing noise, which is typical trait of plasma TVs especially with high-contrast scenes. In fact, I could vividly remember a massive plasma TV shootout I attended where a pure white background was used to test how loud the plasmas buzzed. In TH-42PX70's case, the buzz is more like a high-pitched whine, which didn't particularly trouble me when the sound was on, but if you have ultra-sensitive ears, this is something to take into consideration.

To sum up my view as someone who sees and installs more than your fair share of flat panel television, the TH-42PX70 does most of the important things better than most TVs. Sure it's has its flaws, but this is such a wonderful set-and-forget plasma TV that if I were shopping for a new plasma TV, I'd take this in a heartbeat.

Robert Keene installs home theater by day and indulges himself in high-definition films by night. The realism of a TV pictures has never been better with the technology of plasma TVs getting better and this plasma TV is one that is leading the way. It has a contrast ratio of 3000:1Æ which means whites are whiter and blacks are blacker and a display of 8.58 billion colors, giving you better quality of viewing.

Aesthetics

Let's start with the border of the screen. Around the outside of the plasma screen Panasonic have made the border color a sleek black, along with the excellent contrast ratio the black border enhances the picture quality making the picture more defined and legit. The plasma sits on a simple silver stand with the speakers of the plasma mounted at the bottom under the screen. This plasma is of a smooth elegant design that would go well in any room.

Picture Quality

Before we talk about how good the Panasonic TH-42PX50U's picture quality is, there are a few settings that need to be changed before watching something on it. First off the contrast needs to be set a -10, the sharpness at -5, the brightness at +5 and the tint and colors at 0. These setting will give you a natural cinema like picture which really is the optimal setting for viewing. Now let's talk about how good the picture quality is.

Mostly all plasma TVs of today have great bright and dark colors; however the ultimate test to see if a plasma TV has great picture quality is to how bright colors show up when there is a dark background in the background. To see how good the Panasonic TH-42PX50U performed we tested out The Matrix and Aerosmith live in concert DVDs. Both these DVDs contain lots of scenes where there is a dark or black background and blight sharp colors in the foreground. An average plasma would have trouble displaying these picture where by a glow on the screen would be visible around the edges of the bright objects. In the Panasonic's TH-42PX50U case it has no trouble dealing with dark backgrounds and blight foregrounds, I was amazed at how well it performed - the picture was nice and crisp with a great natural look.

Sound Quality

The sound quality of this plasma was also very impressive. The 16 watt speakers mounted at the bottom drive out a clean full sound with no anomalies or static. You will find that even when you turn the volume right up the quality and cleanliness of the sound still remains the same. Adding more bass will give you a fuller sound and in contrast adding more treble will give you a crisper sound, again without taking away sound quality.

Overall this is a great plasma TV that not only has great picture and sound quality but great features too, like a tuner that gracefully degrades - meaning when a signal is weak or interfered with the tuner can still display the picture and not just drop out like some other plasmas do. This plasma also features a simple user friendly menu which is easy to navigate through and the ability to have 6 inputs connected to it.

Set backs

- Inputs only on the back, no inputs on front or side for easy access

- Does not support picture in picture display

- No computer input or camera card reader

Specs

- 31 inches tall

- About 42 inches wide

- 4 inches deep

- 76 lbs

- Stand 13 inches deep

- Power consumption listed at 399 watts

To find out more about Pioneer plasma televisions and 50'' plasma television visit our website http://www.plasmatvarena.com/ OR our articles page

This article may be reproduced for use on other websites and webpages as long as this resource box and links stay intact and functional.

©2005 Millennium Online Marteting Pty Ltd

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Jakob_Culver

By Jakob Culver

Sponsored by
Gla Nature

Joeyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01555825442594962424noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4002136809199522147.post-18241184171292324052008-09-20T11:17:00.002+07:002008-09-20T11:20:08.487+07:00Panasonic TH37PX80B - Great New 37" Plasma

The Panasonic TH37PX80B is an excellent new entry level plasma from Panasonic. Recently they have been winning a lot of awards and plaudits for their LCD Viera Range which have been so successful but this quality and attention to detail has been transferred to the plasma range.

There are some nice new common sense features on the Panasonic TH37PX80B - simple things like a tougher panel which makes it more resistant to scratches might not sound important but it can be very annoying if you're nice new plasma get scratched early on - and it can be surprisingly easy to do on some models and if my children ever visit your house!

The Panasonic TH37PX80B has improved contrast levels which were possibly slightly lacking on previous Panasonic plasmas and they've added new feature like an SD slot where you can view your digital photos directly from the card. This is a wonderful new feature that you'll find on many of the latest Tvs - it's really useful for viewing your photographs.

There are plenty of slots and connectivity options on this plasma screen - the TH37PX80B has three HDMI slots which will allow you to attach a full range of HD equipment - watch out for this when you're looking for a new HDTV - many only have one slot which is simply not going to be enough in a couple of years time - when you have HD digital, bluray and even your PS3 needing connections. It also has two scart sockets to plug in that old SD stuff whilst you're saving up.

The picture on the Panasonic TH37PX80B doesn't disappoint either -the contrast on blacks is wonderful and depth of colours rich and vibrant - there's a new 'Deep Colour" system on this Panasonic and it really does deliver.

The gap between plasma and LCD tvs is definitely beginning to close in blacks and colour depth but for an entry level plasma this TV really does set a standard. Even the freeview so often the weak link on these TVs is excellent as an overall viewing experience this plasma really is rather good.

Definitely worth checking out.

To read more on the Panasonic plasma - read a fuller review here - Panasonic TH37PX80B

Article Source: http://EzineArticles.com/?expert=Joe_Simpson
By Joe Simpson
Joeyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/01555825442594962424noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4002136809199522147.post-37094366378915756222008-09-20T11:04:00.003+07:002008-10-17T09:04:17.938+07:00Panasonic Viera TH-42PZ85U 42-Inch Plasma

Panasonic has released yet another top product to help compete with the other top Plasma Screen Televisions Manufacturers which keeps them up with the current competition. When you are spending the equivalent of what you used to spend taking the entire family on holiday several years ago it would be wise to ensure any decision made is a wise one. The way that technology changes so quickly nowadays you would be wise to consider carefully any investment and try and ensure that it remains compliant with all possible standards. Digital television (DTT) is a telecommunication system for broadcasting and receiving moving pictures and sound by means of digital signals, in contrast to analogue signals used by analogue (traditional) TV. With DTT, viewers are limited to whatever channels the antenna picks up. Signal quality will also vary. The purpose of this article is to take a look at what is on offer with the new generation of Flat Screen Televisions available and in this case the television in particular is the Panasonic TH-50PV500. The TH-50PV500 is a 50in Plasma TV and the prices for these are around 5100 pounds sterling or 10200 US dollars. The screen resolution is 1366 X 768 and with regards to being HD Ready the answer is yes. The Panasonic has 3 (2 RGB) scarts and the type and number of Multimedia interfaces the TH-50PV500 uses is HDMI and 1. The type of Tuner for this TV is Analogue and Digital and the Panasonic is available from limited outlets only. All these points being taken into consideration, how would we view the Panasonic TH-50PV500?First up, we would look at the picture quality and our score here would be 10 out of 10, and for the sound quality we would rate it at 10 out of 10. Taking a look at the number of relevant connections and their availability, our score would be 10 out of 10. If we take a look at the overall "featureability" our score would be 10 out of 10 and for ease of use and overall value for money we would give it, 8 out of 10 and 10 out of 10 respectively.Taking everything into consideration our overall view of the package would be Well I suppose every manufacturer has to have their showcase product and whether this is Panasonics remains to be seen but it really is superb. OK you will need to be either a dictator in some third world country or have access to bucket loads of cash for this but in this case you really do get what you pay for. This Panasonic 42 plasma TV screen is long-lasting compared to other tvs. Consumers are able to get an excellent picture without the use of hdtv.

The TH-42PWD7UY is reviewed as one of the top in the market. The picture quality is well worth the money spent. Because it is an industrial line model it doesn't come with a speaker or a remote. It might be complicated for beginners to understand the hook ups of this Panasonic 42 plasma TV. You'll get an amazing picture and top quality, but newbie's may want help to install it.

Beginners you may easily want to have the store set it up for you. Most retailers will do this. In conclusion this Panasonic plasma TV will give you the best for your money. The special features on this model are advanced beyond the average features offered. This is a tv that performs above the rest.

I have wanted a new plasma television for years now, but up to this point, I did not know what it even was. All I knew is that plasma televisions are the newest in high tech, and that they have a picture that is out of this world. I do not know what it was that inspired this craze for a plasma screen television, but it is certainly not the first time that I have had a serious high tech jones in my life. I have always been a sucker for the latest electronic gizmo, be it plasma screen television or personal computer, and I guess that this is just simply one more case of the same.

I will not bore you with all of the technical details, but it turns out that plasma screen televisions are really quite as good as I had always thought. Although it is true that a plasma screen television is not the end all and be all of high tech, it is also true that it is one of the best ways to go. But lately, I have been questioning my priorities.

I have known for some time that my old color television has to go. It could scarcely even be called a color tv anymore, because the quality of the picture has degraded so far. But what should I use to replace it with? Do I really have to spend the thousand bucks or so that it will take to get a nice, big plasma screen television? A couple years ago, I would have said yes without even a second thought.

I would be watching that plasma screen television instead of writing this, but then a couple years ago, all I did was to sit on my fat behind and watch movies. I think that I can do better than that now, but I do not think that a plasma screen television will really encourage me in the right direction with my life.

Then again, a new plasma screen television has its advantages. No one ever comes over to my house to watch the big game because my old tv is so lousy, but with a brand new plasma screen television, I would be the hit of the party. Everyone would be dying to watch all of the plays in sharp detail on the new plasma screen tv. I guess that, in that way, the plasma screen television would really improve my life. Maybe I should buy a plasma screen television after all.

Article Source: http://www.articlesbase.com/art-and-entertainment-articles/panasonic-42-plasma-tv-reviewed-89369.html

About the Author:
plasma plasma runs an informative Plasma TV site that looks into all aspects of Plasma TV's from Screen Quality to Screen Size. With DTT, viewers are limited to whatever channels the antenna picks up.
